A visit in Peru - A return with high ambitions and dreams

We often visit our artisans. Why? With regular visits, we really get to know the artisans that produce for us and for you. These visits are crucial to see how they live, if our efforts have the impact that’s needed out there. Also, as producers, we feel that a short chain is super important. In both production and communication.

A VISIT IN PERU

Our CEO Lyn recently visited our artisans in Peru. After which she returned with a vision even more clear then before and an enthusiasm that lights the spark in us all. Our impact is real and the ambition grows with every day. We can, and will, do even more.

Lyn brought back stories that will stay with us—stories of pride, craftsmanship, and perseverance, but also of vulnerability.

During one of the conversations, a woman from a small rural community shared how difficult the off-season is:

When orders stop, sometimes we can't even buy fruit or vegetables. We just wait… hoping for work to come back.”

The off-season—from October to February—is a difficult time every year. When orders temporarily stop, the women's income also disappears.

Her words reflect not only her own reality, but that of the many women who knit with dedication for Crafts by Solid.

Their work means stability, independence, and hope—but without orders, all that comes to a standstill. For themselves. And for their families.

That's why we want to do everything we can to create work even during the off-season.

AND THAT'S WHERE WE NEED YOUR HELP.

An extra order, a small capsule, a new color, or a reissue of a bestseller—it all helps keep women employed, support their families, and ensure the continuity of their income.

For us, fair fashion isn't just about how something is made, but also about when.

Behind every piece we create together are women who count on our collaboration.

If you'd like to schedule any knitting projects for production in the off-season (October–February) in the near future, please let me know.

With every order, big or small, you make a difference—and give women the opportunity to continue working, be proud of their craft, and support their families.

LET'S BUILD THEIR FUTURE WITH HOPE!
